NetApp FAS2050 Earns Top Score in Network World’s 2009 Best of the Tests Awards
NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) has announced that the FAS2050 received the highest score in the Storage category of Network World’s 2009 Best of the Tests awards. Citing consistently higher performance, a mix of NAS and SAN features, high availability, and NetApp® Snapshot™ capabilities, Network World’s Lab Alliance members named the FAS2050 the best of the 12 systems they tested during year-long trials.
“NetApp is proud to accept this award from Network World,” said Patrick Rogers, vice president of Solutions Marketing at NetApp. “Winning the Best of the Tests award over a wide field of competitors succinctly illustrates the value the FAS2050 provides our customers with enterprise-level capabilities such as thin provisioning and Snapshot copies, all in a unified, cost-effective package.”
The 2009 “Best of the Tests” Awards were bestowed by Network World upon a select few products in enterprise networking categories that registered the top performance spots in its hands-on testing program during 2008: the best of the best. In all, Network World tested and reported on hundreds of enterprise products in that time frame, selecting 13 winners.
Network World is the premier source of objective, authoritative reviews in the network IT market, producing articles featuring both single-product and comparative product tests on a weekly basis. The publication taps into its 10-member Network World Lab Alliance, a group of highly qualified industry experts, network integrators, and universities, to set methodology, conduct testing, and produce the articles. Year-long testing culminates with the Best of the Tests Awards. These products are profiled in the annual Network World Best Products package in February.
