Edmund Optics Acquires Ealing’s Reflecting Objectives Product Line
Edmund Optics® (EO) has broadened its ReflX™ Objectives brand with the acquisition of the Ealing-Beck Reflecting Objectives product line. The addition of these 18 new TECHSPEC Adjustable ReflX Objectives, now manufactured and distributed by Edmund Optics, augments their already outstanding offering of microscope objectives. These Objectives are free from problems of chromatic aberration and material absorption associated with standard microscope objectives. Their finite conjugate design and RMS Threading integrate easily into many objective setups and are available in three coating choices. Ideal for applications requiring high throughput and excellent resolution, these mirror-based objectives provide excellent beam delivery or color corrected image quality for a number of applications, including FT-IR Spectroscopy and microscopy, photolithography, thin film measurement, semiconductor inspection, and laser etching.
Adjustable internal mirror centration allows end-user customization
These TECHSPEC Adjustable ReflX Objectives units are configured for a 160
mm tube length with a 0.17 mm cover glass during their assembly and are precision
aligned for optimal performance. However, unlike conventional fixed objectives,
these adjustable objectives feature the ability to adjust the centration of
the internal mirrors using the Allen wrench hex keys, which are included with
each objective along with detailed adjustment instructions. Objectives with
higher magnifications of 36X, 52X and 74X also allow for adjustments to the
tube length and the cover glass correction via a special moving collar. These
unique features allow the useful life of the objective to be extended indefinitely
into the future, reducing costs and saving time.
Three coating options for a wide range of applications
There are three coating options available for EO TECHSPEC Adjustable ReflX
Objectives to suit a wide range of applications. Aluminum with a magnesium
fluoride overcoat is designed for the NUV-Visible wavelength range, DUV Enhanced
Aluminum is suited for the DUV-NUV wavelength range and Gold is ideal for
the IR wavelength range. Please contact Edmund Optics’ Application Engineering
Department to discuss custom coatings, tube length configurations and cover
glass corrections. Information about the TECHSPEC Adjustable ReflX Objectives
can now be found at www.edmundoptics.com/reflecting-objectives. This will
include product specifications, pricing, and a cross listing of Ealing part
numbers against the new EO part number.
